I don't really have anywhere else to vent about this so I'll vent about it here. I am really tired of people complaining The Hobbit is in three movies. I mean, come on, Geeks! For ten years people wanted there to be a Hobbit movie so we could go back and have some more Middle Earth as seen by Jackson goodness, and now not only did we get our wish, but we actually have more movies to look forward to and to geek out about! So really, it's getting kinda old the whole "You can't make three movies out of a book so short" blah blah blah. Obviously yes, Peter Jackson is taking advantage of a franchise that has made him rich and world-renown, but so what? The man's also gotta eat. Plus, if we are brutally honest, he hasn't really done well since LOTR ended, so why not re-immerse his creativity into something he is really good at instead of trying to re-create it in movies that just don't work? I admit, I have no idea what he is going to do with two more films, but we've still got a long road to go and the fact that he has two more (extremely lengthy, but I actually love that) movies to do it in, means he will be able to take his time and actually honor a lot of Tolkien's world as opposed to one action packed film that only covers the bare necessities. I'm actually gonna stop reading online reviews because all they do is complain that the first Hobbit movie is not as good as the other LOTR films and whine about the desecration of Middle Earth. Very few directors would have even dared to take the time to honor the vastness and details of Middle Earth as much as Peter has! Guillermo Del Toro would have, for sure, though it would have been a different Middle Earth, but for instance Sam Raimi would not have! I loved the first film and I am incredibly excited about the next two! I am willing to put my faith in Pete and just enjoy whatever he has in store.
